California Notice
Effective August 30, 2026
Notice at collection and California privacy rights, including how to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to California residents.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Enter your email address and submit the request. No account and no identity verification are required to opt out.
1. Notice at collection
At or before the point we collect your information - the address field and the contact form in the estimate flow - we collect the categories below, for the purposes described, and retain them for the periods stated in section 4. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those listed.
2. Categories collected
| Category | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Identifiers you give us | Name, email address, phone number and the property address you enter. |
| Property and roof characteristics | Derived roof measurements (area, number of planes, predominant pitch), your answers to the qualifying questions, and public property-record fields such as year built and structure size. |
| Estimate output | The price range we calculated for your roof and the material you selected. |
| Technical and request data | IP address, browser user agent, referring page, session identifier and the marketing parameters in the link you arrived through. |
| Consent evidence | The exact disclosure text shown to you, its version, the action you took and the time you took it. TrueSquare retains this as proof of the permission you gave. |
In CCPA terms these fall under identifiers, commercial information, internet activity information and geolocation (the property address you type - we do not read your device location).
3. Sale and sharing
We do not sell personal information for money. If you ask for a contractor introduction, we disclose your contact details, property address, roof measurements and estimate range to one roofing contractor, and that contractor pays us for the introduction. California law may treat that as a "sale" or "sharing", so we disclose it as one and offer the opt-out above.
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16.
4. Retention
Lead records and consent evidence: five years from submission. Blocked-submission and diagnostic records: 12 months. Opt-out requests: kept as long as needed to honour them.
5. Your California rights
You have the right to know, access, correct, delete and port your personal information, to opt out of sale or sharing, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. Use the form above to opt out - no account and no identity verification are required. For access, correction, deletion or portability, email privacy@truesquare.co from the address you gave us; we respond within 45 days and may need to verify that the request comes from you before disclosing or deleting data.
You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf; we will ask for written proof of the authorisation.
6. Shine the Light
California Civil Code ยง 1798.83 lets residents request details of personal information disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Send that request to privacy@truesquare.co.
