Privacy Policy
Effective August 30, 2026
This policy explains what TrueSquare collects when you request a roof measurement, how that information is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to truesquare.co and the estimate tool on it.
1. The short version
You enter an address. We measure the roof from aerial imagery and public property records and show you a price range. If you ask to be introduced to a roofer, we pass your contact details and roof measurements to one roofing contractor. We do not sell your information to lead networks, data brokers, or panels of contractors who bid for it.
2. Information we collect
Through the estimate flow we collect:
- Identifiers you give us. Name, email address, phone number and the property address you enter.
- Property and roof characteristics. Derived roof measurements (area, number of planes, predominant pitch), your answers to the qualifying questions, and public property-record fields such as year built and structure size.
- Estimate output. The price range we calculated for your roof and the material you selected.
- Technical and request data. IP address, browser user agent, referring page, session identifier and the marketing parameters in the link you arrived through.
- Consent evidence. The exact disclosure text shown to you, its version, the action you took and the time you took it. TrueSquare retains this as proof of the permission you gave.
We do not ask for and do not want government identifiers, financial account numbers, health information, or information about children. Please do not send them to us.
3. What we do not store
Roof imagery and geospatial responses from Google Maps Platform are processed in memory to produce our own derived numbers - square footage, plane count, pitch - and then discarded. We do not retain, cache or redistribute raw Google imagery or API responses.
4. How we use it
- To measure the roof at the address you enter and calculate an estimated price range.
- To email you the report you asked for.
- To introduce you to a single roofing contractor, when you ask us to.
- To contact you about your request, using the methods you consented to.
- To detect and block automated or fraudulent submissions.
- To measure how the site performs in aggregate and improve the product.
- To keep records we are legally required or advised to keep, including consent evidence.
We do not use your information to train third-party advertising profiles, and we do not run behavioural advertising on this site.
5. Who we share it with
- Roofing contractors. If you request an introduction, one or more licensed roofing contractors serving your area receive your name, contact details, property address, roof measurements and estimate range. Those contractors pay us for the introduction.
- Service providers. Hosting, database, email delivery and mapping providers process data on our behalf under contract, and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Legal. Where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of a person.
- Business transfer. If the business is acquired, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing your details with the contractor who pays for your introduction may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" under some state privacy laws, which is why we offer an opt-out - see section 8.
6. Communications and consent
Before you submit the form we show you a disclosure describing exactly who may contact you and how. Clicking the submit button is your agreement to that specific text. We store the wording you saw, its version and the time you submitted it. If the disclosure says email only, we will not call you.
You can stop marketing messages at any time: reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or write to privacy@truesquare.co. Contractors you were introduced to manage their own communications - ask them directly, and tell us if they do not comply.
7. Retention
Lead records and their consent evidence are kept for five years from submission, which is the period we may need to demonstrate that a contact was permitted. Blocked-submission and diagnostic records are kept for 12 months. Opt-out requests are kept for as long as needed to honour them. You can ask us to delete earlier - see section 8.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We honour these requests from residents of every US state, not only those where the law requires it.
- To opt out of sale or sharing, use the opt-out form. No account and no identity verification are required.
- For access, correction or deletion, email privacy@truesquare.co from the address you gave us. We respond within 45 days.
- We will not discriminate against you - refuse service, charge a different price or give you a worse estimate - for exercising any of these rights.
California residents should also read the California Notice, which sets out the categories collected, disclosed and shared in the format the CCPA requires.
9. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored in an access-controlled database. Administrative access requires authentication and is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we do not promise that it is; we do commit to notifying affected people promptly if a breach affects their information.
10. Cookies and analytics
We use a first-party session identifier so that the steps of a single estimate hang together, and we record aggregate funnel events (for example, "an estimate was viewed") to understand where the flow breaks. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
11. Children
This site is for homeowners and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email privacy@truesquare.co and we will delete it.
12. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Changes that materially affect how we use information already collected will be notified by email to the address you gave us.
13. Contact
Privacy questions and rights requests: privacy@truesquare.co. Our registered business name and mailing address are available on request from that address; we will confirm them here once the operating entity's registration is final. Mapping and imagery data are provided by Google Maps Platform.
