Terms of Use

TrueSquare measures a roof from aerial imagery and public property records and produces an estimated replacement cost range. If you ask, we introduce you to one or more roofing contractors. We are not a roofing contractor, we do not perform roofing work, and we are not a party to any contract you sign with a roofer.

This is the most important term on this page. Every number the tool produces is an informational estimate derived from remote measurement and regional pricing data. It is not a bid, not an offer, and not a binding quote, and nobody is obligated to perform work at that price.

Estimates can differ from a real quote because:

• Aerial imagery may be months or years old and may not show recent work, additions or damage.
• Tree cover, shadow and low-resolution imagery can affect the measured area.
• Decking condition, flashing, ventilation, chimneys, skylights and layers of existing shingle are not visible from above.
• Local labour rates, permit costs, disposal fees and material availability move over time.
• Insurance scope, code upgrades and structural repairs are not included.

Always get a written quote from a licensed contractor who has inspected the roof before committing money.

• Give accurate information, including an address you are entitled to request a measurement for.
• Use the tool for your own property decisions, not to compile data about other people's homes.
• Do not scrape, bulk-query, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract underlying imagery or API responses.
• Do not submit automated requests or attempt to defeat the anti-abuse measures.
• Do not use the site for anything unlawful.

When you ask to be introduced, we pass your details to one or more roofing contractors and those contractors pay us a fee for the introduction. We do not guarantee that any contractor will contact you. We check that contractors we work with hold the licences and insurance they claim, but we do not supervise their work, guarantee their pricing, or warrant their workmanship. Any agreement for roofing work is strictly between you and the contractor. Disputes about workmanship, scheduling or payment must be resolved with them - though we do want to hear about it at support@truesquare.co, because it affects whether they stay on the platform.

The disclosure shown immediately above the submit button describes who may contact you and how. Submitting the form is your agreement to that text, and we keep a record of the exact wording you saw. You can withdraw consent at any time as described in the Privacy Policy.

The site, its design, the report layout and our measurement and pricing methodology belong to TrueSquare. Imagery and geospatial data are provided by Google Maps Platform and are subject to Google's terms; you may not extract, cache or redistribute them. You may keep, print and share your own roof report freely, including with contractors.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that measurements are accurate for every roof, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that any contractor will be available in your area.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrueSquare is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the site, from an estimate, or from your dealings with a contractor. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to one hundred US dollars (USD 100), which reflects that the service is provided to homeowners free of charge.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify TrueSquare against claims arising from your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, or your violation of another person's rights.

We may suspend or block access to anyone abusing the service, submitting automated requests, or attempting to extract data in bulk. We may also withdraw or change any part of the service.

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Maryland have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in a small claims court, or from exercising rights that cannot be waived under the law where you live.
